The piece is a combination of three short sound works ‘Zikade vs autostrada’, ‘Sirene’, ‘Zikade vs autostrada 2’
‘Zikade vs Autosrada’ is the sound of the Zikade competing with the sound of the motorway.
The piece ‘Sirene’ is a recording of my little daughter extensively crying, which I simply stretched until it almost looses its human character.

The Zikade (Cicada) have been featured in literature since the time of Homer's Iliad and as motifs in art from the Chinese Shang dynasty. They have also been used in myth and folklore as symbols of carefree living and immortality.
And don´t worry, my daughter is doing well and she´s grown up meanwhile.

Zikade vs Autosrada' ist der Klang der Zikade, die mit dem Klang der Autobahn konkurriert.
Das Stück 'Sirene' ist eine Aufnahme meiner kleinen Tochter, die ausgiebig weint, die ich einfach gedehnt habe, bis sie fast ihren menschlichen Charakter verliert.
Die Zikade taucht in der Literatur seit Homers Ilias und als Motiv in der Kunst der chinesischen Shang-Dynastie auf. Auch in der Mythologie und Folklore wurden sie als Symbol für ein sorgloses Leben und Unsterblichkeit verwendet.
Und keine Sorge, meiner Tochter geht es gut und sie ist inzwischen erwachsen geworden.
