A set of ambience sound recordings from all over the world, including Japan, Tajikistan, Belgium, Laos, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Bolivia, Uganda, Norway, ... As the wind blows into the microphone of the recording device, low-end frequency leaking ruins the takes. Often discarded, here these recordings are placed on top of each other in a windy, rumble-like composition. These seriously flawed sounds are highlighted as an inferior movie location. A space full of cracks where the wind gets in. An A-side and the same composition with added soundtrack for a B-side of an audio cassette.

Een set ambient geluidsopnamen van over de hele wereld, waaronder Japan, Tadzjikistan, België, Laos, Australië, Nieuw-Zeeland, Canada, Bolivia, Oeganda, Noorwegen, ... Als de wind in de microfoon van het opnameapparaat blaast, ruïneert het weglekken van lage frequenties de opnames. Vaak weggegooid, worden deze opnames hier over elkaar heen gelegd in een winderige, rumble-achtige compositie. Deze ernstig gebrekkige geluiden worden benadrukt als een inferieure filmlocatie. Peter Lemmens is an artist, who looks at operational levels for their social, political, economical and artistic capacities. On this intersection, he works on how to organize one self responsibly, contaminating the question of “what to produce?” with the question of “how to produce?”. While working on distribution, narrativity, DIY and marginal practices, he often uses sound, video and text. His work are demarcations not only of what can be done differently, but of what can be done simultaneously. This carries a small but fundamental nuance. He thinks conflict and development is not about resolution, but a permanent, fragile mode of production. He thinks amateurism is not incompetence. He likes to make boring works. He sees diversions as a productive method. His work formulates an exit strategy. Working with others is a constant in his practice and finishes this bio by quoting 'Mine is not an autonomous imagination’.

Peter Lemmens is een kunstenaar, die operationele niveaus bekijkt op hun sociale, politieke, economische en artistieke capaciteiten. Op dit snijvlak werkt hij aan hoe men zichzelf op een verantwoorde manier kan organiseren, waarbij hij de vraag "wat te produceren?" besmet met de vraag "hoe te produceren?". Terwijl hij werkt aan distributie, narrativiteit, DIY en marginale praktijken, maakt hij vaak gebruik van geluid, video en tekst. Zijn werk is niet alleen een afbakening van wat anders kan, maar ook van wat tegelijkertijd kan worden gedaan. Dit brengt een kleine maar fundamentele nuance met zich mee. Volgens hem gaat het bij conflicten en ontwikkeling niet om een oplossing, maar om een permanente, fragiele productiewijze. Hij denkt dat amateurisme geen onbekwaamheid is. Hij maakt graag saaie werken. Hij ziet afleiding als een productieve methode. Zijn werk formuleert een exit-strategie.
